What Is A Diamond Accent?

Diamonds are so stunning that they turn people's heads wherever they go. They are available in various qualities, designs, and forms. Whether you're a seasoned buyer or just starting, you should educate yourself on diamond embellishments.

Are you curious about diamond accents (and how they may elevate even the most stunning jewelry to the realm of the extraordinary)? Continue reading!

What Exactly Are Diamond Accents?

Diamond accents are tiny diamonds deliberately placed around a larger diamond in rings and other jewelry designs. These diamonds often have a carat weight of 0.25 or less and are cut more crudely. Thus, they are only a little sought after individually.

Several diamond accents are typically put logically to produce a spectacular result. Jewelry artisans use accents to increase and vary the ring's glimmer, shine, and sway design.

Types of Diamond Accents

Currently, there are four typical applications for diamond accents in jewelry, and they are:

  • Baguette-cut Diamond Accents

These diamonds have a rectangular shape with a step cut. Baguette diamonds are usually set as accent stones, with one on either side of a larger center stone. In addition, baguette diamonds are cut with only 14 facets, so they don't compete with larger diamonds for attention.

Due to their somewhat lengthy nature, baguette diamonds are simple to set within a narrow ring. Because of this, a channel setting is frequently used for baguette diamonds that run the length of a ring or bracelet.

  • Marquise Accent Diamonds

These diamonds have an oval shape with rounded corners that taper to sharp points at the top and bottom. In the same way, as baguette diamonds are typically set as side stones, marquise accent diamonds serve that function most often.

The unique shape of a marquise diamond contrasts beautifully with the traditional round cut of a diamond, creating a stunning and unique piece of jewelry. In addition, their unusual cut gives them greater flexibility.

  • Trillion Accent Diamonds

These triangle diamonds are cut similarly to radiant diamonds to maximize their brilliance. Triliard diamonds are frequently used as the smaller of the two accent stones in a three-stone setting.

A diamond with the brilliance of a trillion will outshine others that aren't as brilliant. This is why round, oval, or radiant center stones work best with trillion accent stones.

  • Round Accent Diamonds

The simplicity and elegance of round diamond accents cannot be overstated. Because of how well its timeless shape complements all other diamond shapes, this is the most adaptable accent diamond.

Side stones, pave settings, and channel settings all feature prominently for round diamonds. The fashionable halo setting, in which smaller round diamonds frame a larger center stone, is another common application of round diamonds. These gems will make any occasion shine brighter and more brilliantly.
