Tips for Picking the Perfect Men’s Wedding Band

We all know the excitement and pressure of finding the perfect engagement ring for a woman, but what about wedding bands for a man? A wedding band is a piece of jewelry one will wear for countless years. Therefore, it must be the perfect band to showcase your individual style. Shopping for a wedding band when there are millions of options to choose from can be overwhelming. Continue reading for tips to help narrow down your search.

Decide the color and material.

Determine the type of metal and color you want the most for your wedding band. The metal type is perhaps the most important factor because it will determine many aspects of the ring–the color, strength, durability, etc. The most common metals for men’s wedding bands are gold, platinum, and tungsten carbide. Consider researching the pros and cons of different types of metals to help with your decision.

Choose the width of the ring.

The width of the ring is all up to preference. Choose the size that would fit your style best. Think about what will look good on your finger; if the width is too wide, it may look clunky and awkward, and if it is too thin, it can look underwhelming.

Choose the style of the ring.

Men’s wedding bands are commonly plain with no design. However, incorporating a design will make your band more personal and can be a great way to stand out. Some popular designs include stripes, two-tone metal, a pattern, or a non-metal inlay. It is also not typical for men to have diamonds in their wedding bands, but why not add some bling?! Diamonds and rare stones can make a ring pop with its own unique flare. Not every man wants a flashy wedding band, but it is a matter of preference.

Decide on the finish of the ring.

The finish of your ring can determine how the metal looks. There are different options for finishes: polished, brushed, hammered, etc. Is smooth and polished more your style, or would you like to have a textured, hammered look to your band? The finish can transform your wedding band into something unique and beautiful!
