We offer a full rhodium and gold plating service on-site. Items to be plated require a full refinishing process. This includes polish, ultrasonic and steam cleaning as well as an electronic surgical cleaning prior to bathing the items with our electroplating solutions. This process provides the best results in longevity and color contrast from the application, and keeps our plating solutions from getting contaminated.
We are able to repair metal eyeglass frames and nose pieces without large, noticeable traces that generally occur when repaired using conventional methods of heat and solder. At Bostonian Jewelers, we use modern laser welding technology to weld eyewear frames, most of the times without removing the lenses or plastic strapping used to secure them into place. The welding procedure is done under a microscopic level, using our laser. The end result is clean and virtually unnoticeable, leaving the finish and color of the frame unharmed, a feat not possible if using a jewelers torch and solder.
Most watch battery replacement can be done while you wait. This service requires meticulous handling of the small parts that hold the battery in its internal compartment. However, some watches, such as divers watches, require specific tools and/or pressure seals that keep water and moisture out, thus taking about a week to be completed.
