At Bostonian Jewelers, we are dedicated to providing our clients with top-notch custom jewelry creations. From wedding band customizations to crafting the perfect engagement rings, our jewelers use innovative designs and techniques to create timeless pieces. When we implement 3D Computer Aided Drawing technology our clients can easily view the jewelry in a virtual world.
Using state-of-the-art technology to create digital works of art, CAD enables us to create digital files of our clients’ visions. From here, these works of art are put into a 3D wax model so clients can see and feel the custom jewelry.
While some jewelers rely solely on hand carving, CAD has ultimately made major headway in the jewelry world, creating a more exact representation of what our clients are seeking. Although sketches do provide clients with some knowledge into the jewelry they’ll be receiving, 3D rendering offers insight that provides further depth than sketches.
It can be nearly impossible to create complex designs by hand or determine the sizes of the gem. Since CAD is a sophisticated technology, we can create intricate pieces and determine where the gem should be placed. Also, CAD doesn’t run the risk of errors and the production time is significantly quicker than hand-drawn sketches.
One of the main reasons our clients work with us is our attention to detail and our quick design stage process. Altering or modifying our designs can be done immediately through CAD technology as opposed to resketching an entire design. In the event of your jewelry being lost or stolen, we have the CAD file, so your jewelry can easily be recreated.
If you’re looking to spruce up your current piece of jewelry and would like to reuse stones, metal or gems, computer aided design technology will work. Perhaps you’re looking for a prong setting and need to secure your precious stone, we’ll come up with a concept through CAD technology.
